Recruiters on average spend ๐Ÿฒ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜€ to view your resume.

I recently watched a YouTube video (https://lnkd.in/dqzdqYUk) that used eye-tracking technology to see what catches a recruiterโ€™s eye on a resume.

Based on this experiment, here are some key tips to make sure your resume stands out:

Most recruiters didnโ€™t spend more than 5-10 seconds on each resume. Even if you have 30 years of experience, focus on the experience that matters most to the job youโ€™re applying for, and on your latest experience.

For example, if youโ€™re applying for a marketing manager role at two different companies, the required skills will likely be similar. Optimize your resume for the job title rather than customizing it for every single job description.

Simplicity and clarity often work best. No colors, no extra elements - they are just distractions.

Recruiters scan resumes in an F format.
