Start here — no coding experience required

You do not need to understand Electron, JavaScript, APIs, or OAuth before starting. Claude Code will write the code and explain the steps. Your job is to describe what you want, provide the artwork, test what it builds, and report anything that looks wrong.

Everything in the basic version, plus:

• Google Calendar reminders
• Gmail notifications
• Google sign-in
• Secure local token storage
• Deduplication and offline handling

Difficulty: more advanced because Google Cloud and OAuth require manual configuration

You can stop after the basic version and still have a complete, useful desktop pet. Calendar and Gmail are upgrades, not requirements.

What to install

Before beginning, install:

1. VS Code — where you will open the project and see the files.
2. Node.js LTS — the runtime Electron needs. npm is installed with it.
3. Claude Code — the coding assistant that will build the app with you.

After installation, restart VS Code so it can detect the new tools.
